Dreams

• Medieval Back-story

  Past down in Folklore, mostly the ones that usually kept people awake at night afraid that something was lurking in the darkness. They did not know how right they were. Siren was always there, always watching but mostly in the dreams, never out in the world of the "living" per-say. He could not leave the other reality he was in, he was stuck, but he did not seem to mind though. Dreams were always a temptation which he gladly gives in to, and he does not know why. It is fun...to watch, to mess with, to see what would happen next. It was possibly in his nature, but at the time he did not care.
  
  Nightmares were so much fun to create. Horrors that were so bad for the owner of the dream that it becomes too much that they force themselves awake. Though short and brief those are not as nearly as fun as for those he forces to continue through it till morning or until another forcefully wakes them up. He could only imagine how they would be acting upon waking. Alas, he has never been to the "living" world until one day while phasing through plentiful of dreams, he crossed upon a unique vision of what looked like...him? No, that could not be possible.
  
  It was him, but it confused him. It was the dream...the mind of the owner making him appear, a double. The little person...the kid as he heard from other dreams called it, saw him and made a fake him look in his dream, unafraid. Disturbed that the kid was not trembling in fear, he strolled out from the darkness and slashed his dream-self away annoyed and something else he could not recall. But when he looked down at the little person, the kid did not move; the kid did not scream, the kid did something he was not expecting. It hugged him, his leg precisely. What happened next was entirely different.
  
  Suddenly the world shifted, things started to melt and break apart then a loud crashing sound...What happened? This was not a dream. Already he can feel something underneath him was soft...he was sitting on something, and it appears to be too small for him also. When he looks around, there are walls, and when he looks down, he stares for a moment in confusion. It was the kid looking up at him showing all his teeth widely... Feeling outward, he can still feel the other "reality" nearby, something so close that it felt easy to go back into. But once he heard footsteps running closer, he shifted into it without hesitation. When turned back to where they were coming from, two people were now also in the room checking over the kid and was confused about why the bed has broken.
  
  Once they left after giving the kid worried glances; he shifted realities again, melting them together in a pool of colors and appeared in the same exact spot and position he was in before the other two came in. Looking down at the kid once more who was excited and happy with his return, he tilted his head curiously..."Things just got more interesting."

• Modern/Main Back-story

  

  In this day and age the internet is a very popular place. On the internet, becoming a media sensation was very popular if the person had what it takes to get there. The most common way to becoming a sensation of that sort was on an internet site called Youtube. In the gaming community, ‘youtubers’ or certain gamers that often played horror games by recording their reactions for their fans amusement was this key. As they played nightmarish settings that often left them wondering why; they continue to feed their nightmares unknowingly.
  
  One YouTuber was playing an unsettling game that had him jumping for the most of the night, his screams and nervous laughing filling his quiet apartment. The neighbors might give him a hard time about it the next day, but it was well worth it for his fans that enjoyed watching him play and provides him with money to live comfortably.
  
  With the recording session over and the moon finally peaked through the window, he shut down his computer and headed for bed after leading to the bathroom and brushing his teeth. It was a very long day filled with fun and scares while recording and tomorrow will be filled with editing and uploading them up onto his Youtube channel. The fans will love it! He was happy with this thought when he climbed into pajamas and crawled into bed, the last things on his mind before falling asleep was of his agenda tomorrow.
  
  The dream was friendly and pleasant, but funnily enough about him playing on the computer. It was a random game, of course, nothing that he knew about or remembered for that matter. However, he hoped his mind would not go straight to the horrible horror games he played earlier that evening. As soon as the little thought about it bubbled in his mind, it was almost like his dream heard that little thought.
  
  The computer game he was playing glitches almost violently popped a bunch of windows up like a virus gone rampant and disappeared. It was then replaced by a near pitch black screen, the ambiance moaning slowly at him and nothing but pixels showed that there was anything alive. His heart started racing in fear and only could stare in bewilderment as a speck of white appeared in the distance.
  
  The figure, shape, or whatever it was too small to see until it started moving closer like a shadow figure of some sort.
  
  As soon as red eyes formed, he immediately closed the game and turned off the computer. Why was it so scary? He played games before, but that felt almost real…as if someone was watching him and coming closer. It was a dream; the mantra that for a while as he turned away from his computer. When he turned away, a sudden static noise filled the air behind him, and this made him double-take at the computer screen when he looked back.
  
  The computer turned on and had gone to white-noise like television with no channels would. That was odd; machines do not do that. In the middle of the static, globs of pixel red started to form into eyes in his horror and got closer to the screen, getting bigger. In shock and frozen fear he watched as suddenly something akin to a white mask and hollowed, red glowing eyes phased through the screen towards him, and all he could do was scream in the darkness of his dream.
  
  He woke up wildly, heart thundering in his ears, sweat formed on his brows and blankets thrashed around him, tangling his legs in the process. It was just a dream! It was just a dream… It seemed so real. After coming to terms with it and laying in the darkness trying to even his breaths, he finally succumbs back to sleep but into a peaceful dream this time.
  
  …What he did not see in his computer room, the once turned off the computer was on and had gone to white noise…
